El Moustachio needs to cut a hole through the wire at X.
Close scrutiny will reveal that the enclosure is made up of 4 separate mazes. Shading each one with a different colour shows that Moustachio needs to cut a hole between the blue maze and the yellow maze. He can only cut one hole. The only place where these two mazes meet is at X. A possible escape route is shown in red.
